action painting as i understand it does not correspond to any art historical epoch, but is a timeless affair and is actually already predetermined by the old masters. this is the case when the pictorial quality is overcome, surpassed, in favour of the abstraction of pure painting. i am thinking of works by michelangelo (pieta rondanini), of the late works of titian (marsyas's death), rembrandt (judenbraut), goya, turner, the impressionists, cezanne and above all monet - his haystacks and water lilies, van gogh, lovis corinth. with tachism, abstract expressionism and informalism, painting becomes open, liberated. it penetrates deeper into the essence of painting. eva kaiser has painted freely. her work achieves a freedom, a freshness, a naturalness. she is not bound to any modern direction. the joy of dripping, wet paint prevails. you can taste, you can smell her appetising applications of paint. her gestural expressions have expressive power. figurative figures are integrated into her colour explosions like memories. everything she does does not correspond to stillness, calm or motionlessness. it corresponds to the dynamic process of creation. the movement, the eternal flow is revealed. concentration, dissolution and renewed concentration are seismographed. that force, that basic energetic flow that exposes itself to abysses and worlds of light, that causes galaxies to extinguish and re-emerge, is at work in her work. eva kaiser's work corresponds to a dionysian, intoxicating perception of life. this wave of fermenting life is simultaneously destruction and construction, and this applies to the whole of creation. the big bang is an excessive, destructive birth of light. kaiser's powerful painting, fuelled by the basic forces, is necessary at the present time. mendacious intellectuality, seemingly coercive apparent orders, the civil service state and pseudo-democracy are countered by healthy life.
