Image: A historical contrast: an empty chair in the centre, surrounded by smartphones in a city that is considered the cradle of humanism, illustrates the loss of humanity in favour of the device.
The title „Cult“ evokes rituals. In an exhibition of „slow art“, visitors are invited to no longer just „follow the screen“, but to be attentive observers again.
The spatial symbolism is of great importance. The circular arrangement is reminiscent of the floor plans of baptisteries or Medici tribunals and thus creates a direct visual link to Florentine architecture.
From 14 to 24 March, Florence is gearing up for the seventh edition of Firenze Contemporary, a unique international cultural event essential for the promotion of contemporary art, which this year is shaping up to be a true cultural mission. The official opening will be celebrated on Saturday 14 March with an atmospheric evening vernissage, offering the public the opportunity to discover emerging art in one of the city's most beautiful galleries.
Organised and designed by Rossocinabro, the exhibition presents a series of enchanting works in a visionary and scenographic setting. In an era characterised by the „cult of the digital“, in which works of art are often reduced to fast-moving content that you simply scroll through, Firenze Contemporary invites visitors to pause for a moment. This exhibition is not just a presentation of works by international artists - from painting and sculpture to photography - but a refuge away from the noise of the big city that aims to restore the role of art as a profound dialogue partner.
This event marks the start of an important tour: an ideal circle that connects the most important art metropolises in a series of exhibitions of pure contemplation. After the stay in Florence, selected works will travel to Rome (11 to 19 April) before being shown in Barcelona in May and finally in Milan in November.
The exhibition also serves as an annual „warm-up programme“ and harbinger of Slow Art Day, which will be celebrated in Rome on 11 April and underlines Rossocinabro's commitment to an intimate, decelerated and contemplative approach to the art experience.
